Resume Screening: The initial screening process involves reviewing resumes submitted by candidates to assess their qualifications, skills, and experience. Staffing agencies typically use keyword matching and criteria-based screening to identify candidates who meet the requirements of the job.
Phone Screening: After shortlisting candidates based on their resumes, staffing agencies conduct phone screenings to further evaluate candidates' suitability for the position. During the phone screening, recruiters assess candidates' communication skills, job preferences, availability, and interest level in the job opportunity.
Interviews: Candidates who pass the phone screening stage are invited for in-person or virtual interviews with recruiters or hiring managers. Interviews allow staffing agencies to assess candidates' soft skills, personality fit, and cultural fit with the client company. Behavioral-based questions may be used to evaluate candidates' past experiences and problem-solving abilities.
Reference Checks: Before presenting candidates to clients, staffing agencies conduct reference checks to verify the information provided by candidates and gather feedback from previous employers or colleagues. Reference checks help confirm candidates' qualifications, work ethic, and performance history, ensuring they are a good fit for the job.
Skills Assessment: Some staffing agencies administer skills assessments or proficiency tests to evaluate candidates' technical skills, knowledge, and abilities relevant to the job. Skills assessments may include computer-based tests, practical exercises, or simulations to gauge candidates' proficiency in specific areas.
Background Checks: Staffing agencies conduct background checks to verify candidates' employment history, education credentials, and criminal record (if applicable). Background checks help ensure candidates' honesty and integrity and mitigate the risk of hiring unqualified or unethical individuals.
Onboarding and Orientation: Once candidates are selected and placed in a job, staffing agencies may provide onboarding and orientation services to help them transition smoothly into their new role. Onboarding may include orientation sessions, training programs, and ongoing support to ensure candidates' success in their new position.
Personality Assessments: Some staffing agencies use personality assessments or psychometric tests to evaluate candidates' personality traits, work style, and compatibility with the job role and organizational culture. Personality assessments provide insights into candidates' behavioral tendencies and help identify individuals who are a good fit for the job and the team.
